DESBANDAO is an editorial collaboration between Daniel Domínguez Romero and myself, conceived with the humility of materializing, in the form of a poetry book, a zeitgeist particular to our generation—immersed in a globalized reality and, at the same time, indebted to traditions, affections, and conflicts.
The poetry collection is built around a careful reinterpretation of the idea of flight (la desbandá), which articulates and harmonizes an eclectic set of references: popular lyric, flamenco, Andalusian colloquial expressions, twentieth-century Spanish poetry, trap, and the internet.
In this project, my contribution was integral and meticulous. I was responsible for the layout and cover design of DESBANDAO, as well as for creating four color illustrations that accompany the poems of Daniel Domínguez Romero. Furthermore, its launch was complemented with serialized stencil illustrations and 3D animations consistent with the identity of the poetry book.
